Are you up for the challenge? We’re on the lookout for students enrolled in supply chain programs or related disciplines for May 2022 internships. 
 
We engage our students in the very core of our operations. As a valued member of the team, you’ll do exciting, challenging work, solve real world problems, and make a meaningful impact. You’ll learn about the business and build your professional network by working closely with other skilled people at TC Energy. The Supply Chain Contracting West team provides support to internal clients in the supply of services required for TC Energy's Gas Operations and Projects’ initiatives, in a timely and cost-effective manner, using sound supply chain management practices.  
 

The roles are based in Charleston, WV. 

 

Tasks could be: 

  • Learn the aspects of sourcing efforts and contract formation and/or contract administration process for acquisition of services and equipment for operations and projects’ initiatives 

  • Learn the SAP program and assist with the creation of purchase orders 

  • Learn how to develop and articulate strategic sourcing plans and strategies  

  • Assist with the management of tender documents, RFPs, RFQ, RFIs, etc. 

  • Sit in on RFP evaluations with project clients 

  • Read and learn terms and conditions of contracts within area of responsibility 

  • Learn the administration aspects of a contract including issuance of change order requests, negotiation and approval of change orders, RFI’s etc. 

  • Assist with the coordination of communication efforts with suppliers, team members, company experts, and advisors (legal, risk, tax, supplier qualification, etc.) 

  • Conduct market and competitive intelligence research and analysis within area of responsibility, as required 

  • Other tasks as required, such as reporting and data analysis 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Actively enrolled in a supply chain programs or related disciplines with at least two semesters of education complete and at least one semester remaining following your work term 

  • Demonstrated ethical business practices and integrity 

  • Ability to be innovative and thoughtful 

  • Excellent critical analysis and problem-solving skills 

  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills 

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy, strong organization, time management, and planning skills 

  • Initiative (self-motivated), able to work independently and within a team environment 

  • Team player with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to build strong and effective working relationships at all levels, both internal and external to the organization, including senior management; structures (e.g.: lump sum, target and bonus arrangements, cost reimbursable) and various forms of contracts (engineering, construction, consulting services, confidentiality, exclusivity, etc.). 

  • Exhibit a safety mindset, in a professional and personal setting 

  • Must exhibit the TC Energy corporate values and incorporate them into work activities and initiatives: safety, responsibility, integrity and collaboration 

  • Legally entitled to work in the U.S. permanently without requiring sponsorship
