The opportunity
The Advisor, Community and Workforce Giving supports the day-to-day implementation of TC Energy’s giving strategy. As a member of this passionate and dedicated team, they play a pivotal role in the enhancement and protection of the company’s brand and reputation through strategic giving initiatives that promote shared prosperity with communities where TC Energy operates, align to evolving business priorities and contribute to the company’s sustainability targets.  

 

What you'll do

  • Support the day-to-day implementation of TC Energy’s corporate giving strategy in the U.S.
  • Oversee the regional giving program and teams tasked with decisioning local grant requests
  • Work with the senior giving advisor to scope, build and support new partnerships in priority markets across our U.S. footprint  
  • Develop and implement plans to activate partnerships, maximizing program reach, brand awareness and impact  
  • Support the execution of our workforce giving program in the U.S., including events, reporting, communications and governance, in collaboration with colleagues in Canada and Mexico 
  • Assist with implementing signature programs that support giving objectives and provide opportunities for external leverage at the local and national level
  • Support the management and governance of the TC Energy Foundation 
  • Work closely with the team’s communications advisor on communications materials, including but not limited to: key messages, social media content, briefing notes, blogs, and event displays
  • Act as a TC Energy ambassador at special events or partnership activations, as needed 
  • Provide support to the Giving Analyst, as required. 

 

Minimum Qualiications

  • 4+ years’ experience in a corporate giving, communications or nonprofit environment 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or other relevant program 
  • Strong project management skills with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, developing metrics and delivering measurable results 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • A proactive, results-driven personality with strong consultation, negotiation, relationship building, conflict management and problem-solving skills 
  • A team-player with strong passion for collaboration, events and communications 
  • Able to travel and willing to work events outside of normal business hours 
  • Experience working with external vendors and partners 
  • Experience in the energy industry
