The opportunity

Our US Liquid Field Operations team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are expanding our presence in Cushing, Ok to support our crude oil testing needs.

 

We are seeking a Gauger who has knowledge and experience in working with Petroleum Quality and Measurement equipment to perform required crude oil testing and custody transfer ticketing. This individual will require the proven skills, competencies and capacity to perform the following job duties listed below. The successful candidate will typically work an 8 hour per day, 5 days a week on a night shift schedule to provide support to our 24x7 operations of the Cushing Tank Terminal.  From time to time the it will be required to work 12 hour shifts in order to support relief coverage of our rotating 24/7 shift schedule, which may require weekend and holiday work. The shift schedule is dependent on our current and future market conditions and may change on short notice.

 

What you’ll do

  • Ensure all work is completed in alignment to TC Energy's health, safety, environment, and risk standards
  • Ensure work tasks and duties comply with HS&E policies, procedures and applicable legislation
  • Complete crude quality testing as part of custody transfer ticketing
  • Witness and review 3rd party crude quality testing practices as part of custody transfer tickets issued to TC
  • Perform monthly and annual preventive maintenance and inspections on site equipment
  • Perform tank gauging activities as required
  • Perform routine equipment integrity checks along with site perimeter security checks
  • Perform routine mechanical, measurement, and maintenance duties at TC Energy facilities
  • Support the review and continuous improvement of crude quality testing practices and procedures
  • Perform calibrations and troubleshoot issues on crude quality testing equipment
  • Represents TC Energy in the Integrated Public Awareness Program activities involving state pipeline association, one-call, contractor/excavation, public official, first responder meetings, etc.
  • Independently enter and locate data on computerized systems
  • With minimal direction, utilize and maintain prints
  • Understand and utilize emergency management (preparedness and response) procedures for work locations
  • Respond to internal and external customer/business partner needs; resolve concerns in a reasonable manner
  • Support critical calls from our operational control center in a prioritized manner, engaging additional support as required to support safe, efficient, and reliable operations;
  • Assist other technicians as required
  • Routine maintenance of the Field Services Building
  • Other tasks as required
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Alignment to and demonstration of TC Energy Corporate Values of Safety, Responsibility, Collaboration, and Integrity
  • Minimum education of a high school diploma or GED
  • Relevant industry experience (crude oil pipeline experience is an asset)
  • Demonstrated effective written & verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated with interpersonal skills to effectively work in a collaborative team environment that includes shared responsibilities, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others, support team and company objectives, and a willingness to work in all areas required by the team
  • Must have the ability to complete tasks and assignments in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
  • Ensuring proper handling and disposition of hazardous waste
  • Utilize computers and e-mail for internal and external communication, record keeping, on-line reporting, material and supply ordering, and filing of various forms
  • Must demonstrate your knowledge of Operator Qualification (OQ) and ability to achieve and maintain the OQ’s needed to perform the Gauger tasks in a timely manner
     

*This position requires candidates to:

  • Have and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Provide a driver’s abstract for review
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing
  • Successfully complete a security clearance/criminal record check
  • Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous oil/liquid expertise and experience will be considered a strong asset
  • Pipeline/Mechanical/Electrical experience would be a strong asset
