The opportunity

Our U.S. Gas Fleet Management team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are expanding our presence to support our growing compression footprint. We are seeking a Fleet Manager who has extensive knowledge and experience in gas turbines and centrifugal gas compressors, including, but not limited to, Rolls Royce aeroderivative units.  This individual has the proven skills, competencies and capacity to work both independently and collaboratively with a keen focus on technical details, forward thinking, and problem solving. This individual should be proficient in data analysis, process development, and decision making. Attention to details and the ability to focus on longer term projects is highly desirable.


This position may be filled at other company locations depending on the location of the successful candidate.


What you’ll do


  • Act as a Technical Lead for the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance program of TC Energy's U.S. turbine fleet
  • Manage the turbine overhaul program
  • Initiate and maintain a fleet specific annual overhaul budget and multiyear plan
  • Maintain fleet statistics, operating history, and coordinate maintenance activities within a Computer Maintenance Management System (SAP)
  • Provide technical support to regional operations and other stakeholder groups
  • Manage the vendor relationship with original equipment manufacturers and repair/overhaul vendors
  • Work closely with Gas Control, Operations, Procurement, and other internal customers for scheduling overhaul, repair and maintenance activities
  • Write maintenance procedures (TOPS) specific to equipment type
  • Write and maintain equipment fleet specific parts lists
  • Author and maintain equipment integrity plans
  • Data input and analysis for maintenance optimization plans
  • Monitor unit and fleet health through real time data systems, interpreting mechanical/vibration analysis and unit health assessments
  • Other tasks as required.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • 6 or more years of related experience
  • Strong knowledge of prime mover equipment operations and maintenance, including gas generators, power turbines, centrifugal compressors, reciprocating engines and compressors, unit balance of plant and associated systems
  • Knowledgeable in compression and operations and maintenance
  • Good understanding of vibration systems, data interpretation, and analysis
  • Willing to challenge traditional industry standards
  • Ability to embrace and lead change
  • Previously demonstrated dedication to safety
  • Ability and initiative to work independently, display creativity, and exercise sound judgement
  • Demonstrated superior organizational skills and proven ability to manage projects within scope and budget
  • Effective analytical skills
  • Skills to effectively operate in a team-oriented environment with a willingness to support team objectives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work closely with field teams, management, third party resources, and coordinate work with other appropriate technical resources
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to handle rapidly shifting priorities and multiple projects concurrently, requiring resolution of complex problems in stressful situations
  • Knowledge of Codes and Acts applicable to the above systems

This position requires candidates to

  • Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home.


Applicants without an Engineering degree, but who have significant experience, may align to the Technologist job ladder.
