The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Analyst – Liquids Cost & Capital Accounting to review and prepare cost reports and forecasts for the TC Energy Liquids Pipelines.  This will be accomplished through communication and collaboration with colleagues, thorough analysis of costs and variances, and timely and accurate reporting.  In addition, this role will provide guidance to the Cost & Capital Accounting team on month end accounting and reporting processes and is a primary contact for accounting questions.

 

What you’ll do

  • Review and prepare business unit cost and capital reports, including variance analysis
  • Present results and explain variances
  • Compile cost and capital information for Keystone toll calculations
  • Coordinate departmental forecast activities with Business Unit leaders
  • Input forecast data into the Business, Planning and Consolidation (BPC) system
  • Maintain cost reporting hierarchies in BPC
  • Respond to questions and request from our business partners    
  • Other ad hoc projects and analysis as required.

 

Minimum qualifications

  • Successfully completed an undergraduate degree in a related discipline
  • Six years of related, progressive experience
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Cost accounting, reporting, and forecasting experience.  
  • Developed communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical/reconciliation skills
  • Strong computer skills, especially Excel, and good working knowledge of SAP, BPC and Power BI would be an asset
  • Self-starter with proactive approach to problem identification and resolution with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines with multiple priorities
  • Proven team player, with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships
  • Pipeline operational and commercial knowledge
