The Opportunity
This position is responsible for providing leadership and practical guidance to help the company leverage the Operations Management System to drive best in class performance and continuous improvement.

 

Reporting to the Director, Process Safety and Operational Excellence within our Technical Centre, in this role you will lead a team of specialists and guide business leaders to enhance the effectiveness of Operations Management System governance, to improve its structure and content, and to ensure the processes and procedures we use are safe, reliable, effective and add value.  You will relentlessly focus the organization on driving improved results, reduced cost and on eliminating waste.

 

What you’ll do

  • Lead the ongoing work to refine and improve the structure, hierarchy, templates and usability of the Operational Management System (OMS), as the way we work
  • Coordinate across business units to develop, test and refine business processes, standards and practices, and facilitate the governance of the OMS
  • Facilitate collaboration among business leaders to align on the highest priorities and best improvement opportunities for the organization and integrate this work into the business planning cycle
  • Facilitate continuous improvement work across the company by providing methodology, tools and resources to help the Business Units make significant process improvements
  • Leverage key performance indicators and process metrics to promote a data driven approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate on a roadmap of information technology solutions as enablers of process improvement.
  • Catalyze a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging Lean management tools, collaboration, innovation and sharing of best practices
  • Lead complex projects requiring collaboration with cross functional teams to identify and act on high priority opportunities

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Degree in Engineering or Business
  • 15 years of related experience in oil, gas, energy, utilities and/or process industries
  • Proven experience leading the development and improvement of an Operations Management System
  • Demonstrated track record of leading effective teams and influencing without positional authority
  • Proven ability to interpret and relate technical standards and processes for implementation and review

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree
  • Experience in the Hydrocarbon Pipelines industry
  • Demonstration of global, cross-functional leadership through effective influencing, collaboration and cultural awareness

  • Travel across borders and as such the candidate must be able to provide applicable documentation to this effect (Passport and eligibility to travel to the US and Mexico)
